Common Questions

Do I need a Chinese visa?

For most Western passports, yes — but with the 144-hour visa-free transit policy you may be able to enter Guilin via Beijing/Shanghai without a tourist visa if you are continuing onward to a third country. We will confirm your eligibility before booking.

How private is "private"?

You are the only travellers in the car and on the schedule. Your guide and driver are dedicated to your party from arrival to departure — no shared transport, no other passengers, no fixed group timetable.

Is the guide actually English-speaking?

Every guide on this route is fluency-tested in English and has at least three years of inbound experience. We can also provide French, German, Spanish, and Russian on request with three weeks’ notice.

Can we adjust the itinerary?

Yes. Day order, hotel tier, group size, departure airport, and add-on experiences (cooking class, river paddle, photography guide, longer Longji hike) are all open. We finalise the plan with you in WhatsApp before quoting a final price.

What about the weather and best season?

April–June and September–November are most reliable: temperate, clear, terraces planted or harvested. July–August brings mountain mist and bigger crowds; December–February is dry, cool, and quiet but Longji terraces are bare.

Are domestic flights included?

The base price assumes you arrive at Guilin airport on your own. We can add domestic flights from your gateway city (Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Chengdu) at the network rate, with no agency markup.

What if it rains?

Karst landscape in soft rain is unforgettable — but we keep two indoor backup experiences in reserve (cooking class, Reed Flute Cave) for any rain-heavy half-day, and your guide will reshuffle the schedule on the fly.
